Privacy Policy

Talk2Jesus is developed and published by 2WAI ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Talk2Jesus handles your information.

1. The Short Version

We collect nothing. We store nothing. We transmit nothing. Talk2Jesus runs entirely on your iPhone. All AI processing, speech synthesis, and conversation data remain on your device. No data is sent to any server, cloud service, or third party — ever.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect personal information (name, email, phone number, address)
We do not collect conversation content, messages, or voice recordings
We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data
We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising SDKs
We do not use cookies, fingerprinting, or any form of user tracking
We do not share, sell, or transfer any data to third parties

3. On-Device Processing

All features of Talk2Jesus operate locally on your device:

AI Conversations: Powered by Apple's on-device Foundation Models (iOS 26+) or local keyword matching (iOS 17-25). No cloud AI services are used.
Text-to-Speech: Kokoro-82M CoreML model runs on your device's Neural Engine.
Lip Sync: Wav2Lip CoreML model runs locally. Video clips are bundled with the app.
Speech Recognition: Uses Apple's on-device speech recognition (requiresOnDeviceRecognition = true).
Conversation History: Stored in local device storage (UserDefaults/Core Data). Never transmitted.

4. Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your iPhone and is never transmitted:

Conversation turn history (last 10 turns, cleared on app restart or by user)
Session summaries (last 20 sessions, stored in UserDefaults)
Topic tags for spiritual journey tracking (stored in UserDefaults)
Age verification status (date of birth is NOT stored — only age-verified boolean)
App preferences (sync offset, avatar selection)
Break reminder and crisis detection usage counts (for SB 243 compliance)

You can delete all locally stored data at any time via Settings > Conversation > Clear History within the app, or by deleting the app from your device.

5. Children's Privacy

Talk2Jesus complies with California Senate Bill 243 (Children's Online Safety Act) and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

An age verification gate is presented before first use
Users under 13 are not permitted to use the app
Users aged 13-17 receive enhanced protections: shorter break reminders, content filtering, and crisis detection
No data is collected from any user, including minors

6. Crisis Detection & Safety

Talk2Jesus includes on-device crisis detection that scans for keywords related to self-harm, suicide, and other emergencies. When triggered, the app displays crisis resources (including the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). This scanning is performed entirely on-device; no data is transmitted to any service.

7. Third-Party Services

Talk2Jesus uses zero third-party libraries, SDKs, or services. The app is built entirely on Apple's native frameworks (SwiftUI, CoreML, AVFoundation, Vision, Metal, Foundation Models). No advertising networks, analytics services, or crash reporting SDKs are included.

The only third-party interaction is with Apple's App Store for purchase processing, which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

8. European Users (GDPR)

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom:

Data Controller: 2WAI is the data controller. However, since we collect no personal data, GDPR data subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, objection) are inherently satisfied — there is no data to access, correct, or delete on our end.
Legal Basis: No processing of personal data occurs, so no legal basis is required. On-device processing does not constitute "processing" under GDPR as no data leaves the device or is accessible to us.
International Transfers: No data is transferred internationally or to any third party.
Data Protection Officer: Given the absence of data processing, a DPO is not required. For privacy inquiries, contact privacy@2wai.ai.

9. California Users (CCPA/CPRA)

For California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

We do not sell or share personal information
We do not use sensitive personal information for any purpose
We do not collect personal information, so rights to know, delete, correct, and opt-out are inherently satisfied
We do not discriminate against users who exercise their privacy rights

10. UK Users (UK GDPR / Data Protection Act 2018)

For users in the United Kingdom, the same protections described in Section 8 (GDPR) apply under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. No personal data is collected, processed, or transferred.

11. Apple App Store Privacy

In accordance with Apple's App Store requirements, our App Privacy "nutrition label" states: Data Not Collected. We do not collect any data linked to your identity or device.

12. Network Usage

Talk2Jesus makes zero network requests. The app functions fully in airplane mode. The only network activity associated with Talk2Jesus is the initial download from the App Store, which is managed by Apple.

13. Changes to This Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated effective date. Since we collect no user data, we cannot notify users directly — please check this page periodically.
